• College Strategic Policy

The College is a potent instrument to promote the democratization and advancement of quality and relevant education to all citizens at all levels.
 It serves as an effective change agent for the development and improvement of human life.

It aims to contribute to the attainment of the following national development goals:

  • To achieve and maintain an accelerating rate of economic development and social progress;
  • To assure the maximum participation of all the people in the attainment and enjoyment of the benefits of such growth; and
  • To achieve and strengthen national unity and consciousness and preserve, develop, and promote desirable cultural, moral and spiritual values in a changing world.

A. School terms

  1. The academic year consists of two semesters and one summer term. The number of school days per semester and per summer term is contained in the school calendar.
  2. The CHED prescribes a minimum of 100 class days spread over 18 weeks per semester. The summer term consists of 6 weeks.

B. Class hours

  1. One unit of credit is one hour of lecture or recitation, or three hours of laboratory, drafting or shop work each week for the period of a complete semester.
  2. Student and faculty attend classes on time.
  3. Students are not sent out on errands during class periods.
  4.  Suspension of classes is done only in extreme need. 

C. On the Job Training

  1. On the job-training requirements are important components of the course curriculum intended for the students to have ample experience in accordance to their area of specialization.

D. Academic load

In accordance with the regulation of the Commission on Higher Education Department (CHED), no student may be permitted to carry a load more than the prescribed units under the College’s approved curricular offerings.


 SUBJECT AND COURSE REQUIREMENT

Course Syllabi

  1. Course Syllabi should be made available to students at the beginning of every term and its contents should be discussed clearly by the faculty.
  2. The course syllabi should contain:
    1. Course title
    2. Course description
    3. General objectives
    4. Specific objectives
    5. Course content and time allotment
    6. Requirements of the course
    7. Values integrated
    8. Grading policy
    9. References
  3. Subject Requirement
    a. The requirement/s or project/s identified in the syllabi should be relevant to the course of a concerned program.
    b. The students should be informed of such requirement at the beginning of the term.
    c. The faculty should not deny a student his/her periodic examination if he/she does not comply with the course requirement. However, the erring student should be given a failing grade equivalent to zero with its equivalent transmutation.
